Meet Angie Wuelling, MA, CCC-SLP
Angie is the owner of ChitChat Therapies. She is a bilingual and certified speech-language pathologist, and an orofacial myofunctional therapist.
In 2018, Angie launched ChitChat Therapies with a simple yet ambitious goal: to support children and families as she would want her own child and family to be treated. She yearned to build strong bonds with her patients and to become a valued person in their lives. Angie knew that she would make a bigger difference working one-on-one with a smaller caseload of patients rather than continuing to serve 70+ children per week at a public preschool. Her commitment to providing patients with top-notch services led her to orofacial myofunctional therapy (“myo”). Angie realized that many speech difficulties emerge from differences in oral and facial structures. Instead of merely teaching her patients to compensate for their speech delays and disorders, Angie helps discover the root causes of their difficulties with speaking, breathing, sleeping, and eating. Angie has spent hundreds of hours learning from and collaborating with leaders in orofacial myology: fellow speech-language pathologists; orofacial myofunctional therapists; airway-focused dentists, orthodontists, and otolaryngologists (ENTs); and bodyworkers (e.g., craniosacral therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths). She strongly believes that a collaborative approach with other healthcare providers is necessary for optimal orofacial myofunctional results. Angie graduated from the University of Colorado—Boulder with her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. At CU, she was awarded a national scholarship based on her academic success and commitment to serving children with language disorders. Angie graduated Cum Laude from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Angie also completed her Spanish minor after studying abroad in Salamanca, Spain. |
